Physio for CrossFit in Victoria, BC
Nothing is more frustrating than looking for help for an injury, and they ask you "what's a kip?" Or even worse, they just say "CrossFit is dangerous." You don't just need somebody that will treat your pain. You need somebody that has experienced CrossFit for themselves, understands the demands, and can coach you through all the movements that are involved AS WELL AS get you out of pain.
At Apollo, we get it. We have personal experience training AND coaching CrossFit. Our 5-stage rehab and performance system is built for CrossFit athletes who don't want to be scaling workouts forever. We’ll help you move better, recover faster, and get back to crushing WODs without fear of breaking down mid-set.
We’ve worked with CrossFit athletes from their first Open to the Games. Whether your goal is hitting a new snatch PR, stringing together muscle-ups, or simply keeping up with your box’s fittest, we’ll build a plan that keeps you training — not sidelined.

-
No plan to reintegrate weightlifting, gymnastics, or conditioning safely outside of "ease back into it."
Our Approach to CrossFit Rehab

Recover
Our main focus in the initial stage is to get your pain under control and get you back to training. That means helping you come up with a customized modification menu so you are ready for any workout that is thrown your way, and giving you specific mobility/stability/technique work to get you back into training shape.

Rebuild
In the Rebuild phases, we focus on building muscle and strength in the areas you need it most.
This is where we start to challenge your technique under some load, and it really starts to feel like training again.
We also start to incorporate other styles of training you may be missing from your own program, such as plyometrics, single leg and rotational training, and structured accessory work for weaknesses.

Perform
Ramping up the intensity - both in terms of weight on the bar and heart rate - is the goal in the Perform phases.
We start to challenge your technique under higher and higher levels of fatigue to make sure you are truly ready for anything that gets thrown at you.
Being able to do a full snatch or kipping pull-up is one thing when fresh, and completely another when you are deep into a Metcon.
-
Help you stay in the gym while rehabbing through custom scaling options that you can share with your coaches at your gym.
-
Improve technique and efficiency for weightlifting and gymnastics to reduce your injury risk in the future.
-
Personalized accessory programs to go along with your gyms programming to keep building your weaknesses along side your fitness.
-
Work with a physio that understands CrossFit programming, coaching, and takes part in it themselves.
